Pemain asal Belanda, Kevin Brands, rela memutuskan kontraknya dengan Almere City demi bermain di Indonesia. Saat ini, pemain 29 tahun tersebut resmi bergabung dengan Bali United.
Kontrak Brands dengan klub asal Belanda tersebut sebenarnya masih tersisa hingga pertengahan 2018 mendatang. Ia baru bermain di Almere selama empat bulan setelah pindah dari klub Turki, Samsupor.
Di Bali United, Brands mendapatkan kontrak selama dua tahun. Pemain yang berposisi sebagai gelandang ini diharapkan bisa mengantarkan Serdadu Tridatu menjuarai Liga 1 setelah musim lalu hanya keluar sebagai runner up.
Brands tampaknya sudah tak sabar menunggu kontraknya di Almere City habis untuk pindah ke Bali United. Untuk itu, ia akhirnya rela memutuskan kontrak setelah menemui petinggi klub.
"Kevin bertanya minggu lalu apakah dia diijinkan untuk segera pergi," ungkap Direktur Almere City, John Bes, seperti dilansir Omroep Fleoland.
"Setelah berkonsultasi dengan staf teknis, kami memutuskan untuk menyetujui pemutusan kontrak dengan syarat," sambungnya.
Kedatangan Brands ke Bali United telah melengkapi empat slot untuk jatah pemain asing. Sebelumnya, tim besutan Widodo Cahyono Putro tersebut telah mendatangkan Ahn Byung Keon, Demerson Bruno dan Nick van der Velden.
